John Nihmey — Chairman
John Nihmey is co-founder of NIVA and currently serves as the company's President. He helped build the company from a fledgling out-of-home operation in the early 1980s to its current place as a pioneer in documentation outsourcing and one of the most highly respected technical communications firms in North America. NIVA's continued strength and profile is in part due to John's expert fiscal management and his ability to adapt the business to economic shifts and societal priorities.

John is a recognized expert in the field of executive communications, marketing and corporate branding. He has used his extensive communications experience and dynamic interpersonal skills to help companies in Canada and the US develop and implement business renewal strategies, corporate culture initiatives, marketing campaigns, and change management. He currently heads NIVA's marketing communications initiatives.

John authored Canada's most widely syndicated travel feature, Hotels of the World, from 1977 to 1982. He is also the author of two successful books, Time of Their Lives—The Dionne Tragedy (MacMillan, 1986; CBS miniseries, Million Dollar Babies, 1994) and Fireworks and Folly (General Publishing, 1998). John is a popular speaker on the importance of communications in corporate development. John is an Honours graduate of Carleton University (Honours in English). He is listed in Who’s Who in Canada. He is also a popular speaker on the role of communications in corporate development and how to integrate communications into corporate planning.

Anton Holland — Secretary
Anton Holland joined NIVA in 1989 and became full partner in 1995. He began his career as an environmental scientist in Toronto, quickly becoming a sought-after writer adept at describing scientific research for diverse audiences.

Anton has been instrumental in NIVA's growth in the area of science communications, and is leading the company's strategy to become a leader in bridging complex science with the information needs of multiple audiences. Using his considerable expertise in science writing and project management, Anton leads NIVA’s science writing team and specializes in the areas of health, life sciences, and the environment. He has developed keen insight into the need for clear and concise science writing for public audiences, and is experienced in public consultation and drafting regulatory guidelines.

Anton is a Science (biology) graduate from the University of Toronto. He is a member of the Society of Technical Communication (STC), the Canadian Science Writers' Association (CSWA), and the American Medical Writers' Association (AMWA).

Peter Vasdi — Treasurer
Peter Vasdi is co-founder of NIVA and an active partner in the technical operation of the company. Peter developed documentation standards for NIVA that became the basis for documentation standards used in numerous technology companies across Canada. He also developed a series of automated project management tools pertinent to documentation that formed the basis of NIVA's proprietary DocuManage solution.

Peter attended Royal Roads Military College (RRMC) and is a graduate in Applied Science from the University of Toronto (Aeronautical Engineering). He is a long-standing member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario (APEO). He is currently active in local politics and is an avid landscape architect.
